Sisterhood

From the moment you enter Kappa, you become a member of an organization that prides itself on loyalty, sisterhood, and involvement. Becoming part of something so special and sacred is such an honor, there is nothing better than feeling the love and support from all your new sisters.

What does sisterhood mean to Kappa?...

Sisterhood at Kappa Kappa Gamma means having a shoulder to cry on after one of your hardest days, or someone to jump and down with you when you finally get that acceptance email for grad school. A person who will shout you out at chapter for making their day better and be happy to see all the applause you get. We pride ourselves on growing together to become better women. Women who are respectful, optimistic, and knowledgeable.

A Quote from Blanee Fabean...

"When I went through recruitment my sophomore year, I was unsure of my place, myself, and my journey. I met two of the most genuine people on philanthropy round of formal recruitment at Kappa Kappa Gamma. Our conversation was intimate, relatable, and felt the most safe and open of my college experience. I was able to connect with girls I never met before, and feel like I’d known them my whole life. I was accepted for who I was and have grown into who I have become through the support of my sisters within the walls at Kappa. I remind myself that I was welcomed into this chapter stumbling up the back steps and I can’t wait to walk gracefully out the front door."

Sisterhood events

Sisterhood events are organized by members of Kappa’s executive board and are designed to bring the chapter together to strengthen our bonds within the walls of Kappa Kappa Gamma. These events can range from stopping in real quick to grab coffee and donuts to movie nights at the Kappa house. Some of our favorite events include senior teddy bear making, canvas tote bag painting, friendship bracelet making, tailgate at the house before football games, Ice skating, and so many other craft events. Sisterhood events typically have snacks and drinks like cookies, donuts, smoothies, charcuterie boards, and hot cocoa. There is nothing better than relaxing at the house with your Kappa sisters!

Kappa Kappa Gamma Founders Day!

This year we celebrated 153 years of strong confident kappa women. For 153 we've mixed the talents and experiences of each of our members, creating a sisterhood that is truly special. We are so lucky to be sisters with every past, present, and future member of this organization! Everyone wore their traditional clothing and golden key pin and had an amazing luncheon with the alumni that joined that morning!
